- Papers submitted to the journal first go through an initial screening with respect to the formal criteria by the editorial team and the Editor-in-Chief (subject editors). Then, each paper is assessed by independent reviewers.
- A submission inappropriate for publication is returned to the author.
- After the initial scrutiny each paper is assessed by at least two independent reviewers not affiliated to The University College of Applied Sciences in Chelm or to The International Academic Board of the Journal or – the unit employing the author.
- The reviewers ought to have at least a doctoral or postdoctoral degree or its equivalent and the subject of the reviewed paper should be within the scope of their expertise.
- The reviewers and authors must not know each other’s identity (double blind review process).
- The review must be submitted in a written format and must contain an explicit statement regarding the paper’s acceptance for publication or its rejection.
- A manuscript is not accepted for publication if it does not meet academic standards or formal requirements, or contains serious factual errors and therefore, is not within the current legal framework.
- After the reviewing process is completed, the author is informed about its results and can read the two reviews.
- The full list of collaborating reviewers is updated yearly on the Journal’s website or in the Journal itself.
- Having analyzed the reviews, the Editor-in-Chief decides whether to accept or reject the paper.
